Our Achievements

In the past two decades of the existence of the club, the activities of the club have impacted positively on the lives of the people. Such activities which cut across different areas include:

EDUCATION
The realization of the importance of education informed the club's huge financial investment in both Human Capital Development as well as material resources in the clan. This process is ongoing in the following areas:

  • Institution of Education Scholarship Scheme to tertiary institutions to assist indigent sons and daughters of the clan. Several Weppa Wanno sons and daughters who have demonstrated a knack for scholastic achievements have benefited from this scheme
  • Introduction of inter school Quiz competition. This has become an annual event to encourage inter school interaction and knowledge acquisition
  • Introduction of Career Guidance to students in Junior and Senior Secondary schools
  • Renovation/refurbishment and stocking of Secondary School Library

ECONOMIC
Over the years, the club has economically empowered the graduate youths by assisting them in securing jobs in both private and public sectors of the economy in their chosen vocations. The club was able to accomplish this through pressure and persuasions of sons and daughters of Weppa Wanno Kingdom who have distinguished themselves in their fields of endeavour.

POLITICAL
The Club has continually shown tremendous interest in the political development of Weppa Wanno Kingdom, especially in the provision of advice to political office holders in the areas of people-oriented programmes /projects that will accelerate the socio- economic transformation of the clan. Logistic support is also provided for those who aspire to public offices.

Weppa Wanno Pyramid club has made some landmark achievements by intervening at different crisis points in the clan.

SOCIAL
The club has reached out to assist hospitals and Non Governmental Organizations (NGO's) within the clan in order to identify with the peculiar problems of the people with a view to making such contributions that would help alleviate their sufferings. In this regard, the club has made donations in cash and materials to:

  • Santa Maria (Notre Dame Hospital), Agenebode- bed sheets and ceiling Fans and other hospital equipments
  • Agenebode Motherless babies' home- cash and food items
  • Cash donations to religious organizations to assist in the moral upbringing of youths as well as contributions to different community projects that seek to benefit the people
  • Donation of cooking gas and other material to Women Development and Skill Acquisition Centre
  • Donation of various items to Weppa Wanno flood victims displaced by the overflow of River Niger.

SECURITY OF LIFE AND PROPERTY
At different points, the club had offered some useful advice to the Local Government Authority and Royal Fathers on the need to be more security conscious, reinvigoration of the civil defence and the possibility of joint Police/ military patrol in the clan. A strong delegation was made to the Commissioner of Police of Edo State, while a strong complaint was also lodged with the Inspector-General of Police on the need to improve on the security of the clan.

  • Award of scholarship to Weppa Wanno indigenes in higher institutions
  • Building of Police Barracks in Agenebode
  • Establishment of a Skills Acquisition Centre in Agenebode
  • Supply of hospital equipment and materials to the General Hospital in Agenebode
  • Annual Football Competition for schools in Weppa Wanno
  • Annual Quiz Competition for schools in Weppa Wanno
  • Peaceful resolution of conflict among Weppa Wanno communities

The club pioneered the career talk for the Junior and Senior Secondary Schools in Weppa Wanno. This is organized on every Easter Saturday at St Peters' Grammar School, Agenebode. It covers both public and private school students. Read More
